Andrew Frenette

Head of Real Estate Investment Group

Drew Frenette has overall responsibility for the management of Eaton Vance’s Real Estate Investment Group, and serves as portfolio manager for entities which hold property interests on behalf of Eaton Vance clients. He serves as Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Real Estate Investment Group.

Drew joined Eaton Vance in 2006 from GE Real Estate, where he served in a number of capacities, including finance and investment related positions. Prior to GE Real Estate, he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers as a manager in the audit and business advisory service group. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Connecticut and is a member of several real estate organizations.

John Barrie

Director of Asset Management

John Barrie oversees the asset management function of Eaton Vance’s Real Estate Investment Group, having primary responsibility for managing equity investment real estate including leasing, capital management, expense and revenue controls, and property valuations. He also serves on the Investment Committee of the Real Estate Investment Group.

John joined Eaton Vance in 2020 from Digital Realty, where he oversaw the portfolio management function for the firm’s North American assets. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from McGill University, a Master of Studies degree in History from the University of Oxford, a Master of Business Administration degree from Boston University and a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Development from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Brian Shuell

Director of Acquisitions and Dispositions

Brian Shuell is responsible for all commercial and residential real estate capital deployment and disposition activity made on behalf of Eaton Vance’s Real Estate Investment Group, including the sourcing, negotiation, and due diligence of all potential transactions. He also serves on the Investment Committee of the Real Estate Investment Group.

Brian joined Eaton Vance in 2006 from Prologis, Inc. (formerly AMB Property Corp.) where he was responsible for real estate capital investment in the Eastern United States. Prior to Prologis, Inc., Brian worked in consulting for both Deloitte and Touche LLP and Arthur Andersen LLC. He received Bachelor of Science degrees in Finance and Economics from Boston College.

Gary LeFave

Director of Finance

Gary LeFave has responsibility for a broad range of finance activities for Eaton Vance’s Real Estate Investment Group, including all property level debt and fund level financings, managing lender relationships, tax planning, strategic planning and valuations. He also serves on the Investment Committee of the Real Estate Investment Group.

Gary joined Eaton Vance in 2004 and prior to that he worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers in their tax group. He received his Bachelors of Business Administration degree from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst and his Master of Science in Finance and Master of Business Administration degrees from Boston College. Mr. LeFave is a member of Real Estate Finance Association.
